During summer 2021, I was a UI/UX intern at Trip.com Group with the Trip.Biz Product&PMO Team. I worked on various projects during my internship, and I divided them into 4 parts in order to better explain my work: UI Design, Visual Design, UX Design, Design System.* Trip.com Group (携程集团) is the largest online travel agency in China and one of the largest travel service providers in the world that has more than 400 million users.* (携程商旅) is Trip.com Group's B2B service that in charge of Trip.com Group's corporate exclusive product and one-stop service.
The first task I received was to revise some of the current interfaces since Trip.Biz was updating its design systems and some of the old interfaces no longer match the requirements.I was usually given some instructions about why the interfaces needed improvement and tried to creatively solve the problem myself. After I submitted my work, the front-end developers would visualize my design by HTML/CSS/Javascript, and then I would iterate my design based on their feedback. I also helped them to make sure all the space, colors, and text sizes were correct. After that, we would finally publish everything online.
Trip.biz always uses different kinds of special logos to promote event discounts. I was in charge of designing the logo for a summer event that gives users discounts for their plane tickets and hotel reservations. The final app logo was successfully launched in App Store and Android Market.
This experience allows me to grow a lot in my career since this is my first UX internship (also it is in-person)! I learned a lot from being a temporary full-time employee and received a lot of feedback and critiques which helped me improve a lot and elevated my knowledge of UX. I am really grateful to the ones who helped me through the journey, including the visual design team, UX design team, and marketing design team. Because of this internship, I feel more determined to choose UX as my future career.
